August was a month to remember at The Green House Cottages® of Belle Meade in Paragould, Arkansas. From joyful gatherings to heartfelt milestones, our residents enjoyed a full calendar of events that brought smiles, laughter, and lasting memories.
To start our monthly recap, we enjoyed a cozy movie matinee with all the essentials: buttery popcorn, fizzy soda, and plenty of chocolate. Residents gathered for a relaxing afternoon of movies and fun, sharing laughs and sweet treats with good company.
One of the most special moments came when we celebrated Ms. Dorothy’s 90th birthday! Her party was a beautiful tribute to a life well-lived, with a huge turnout of family and friends who came to honor her. The room was filled with love, laughter, and heartfelt memories as we toasted to nine decades of wisdom, kindness, and joy.
Over in Hyde Cottage, creativity bloomed during our arts and crafts sessions, where residents painted and decorated charming little birdhouses. These colorful creations added a cheerful touch to our cottages and gave everyone a chance to express themselves through art.
August also brought a touch of glamour with our resident pageant, and we’re thrilled to share the results. Ms. Johnnie Armstrong was named 2nd runner-up, and Ms. Verda Crouch took home the title of 1st runner-up. Our radiant Queen of the day was none other than Ms. Loretta Chandlier, who stole the spotlight with her grace and charm. The crowd showed their love and support, voting Verda Crouch as the crowd favorite, while Johnnie Armstrong dazzled as best dressed. And let’s not forget Brenda Fairchild, who was crowned with the title of Best Hair. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who helped make this month so amazing for our elders. From the staff and volunteers to the families and friends who joined us, your presence and support made all the difference.
At Belle Meade, every day is a chance to celebrate the lives and stories of our residents, and August was a beautiful reminder of just how special those moments can be.
